The John Hallett Memorial Regatta was held on October 22 and 23 at the Conroe Lake Yacht Club.

The breezy conditions experienced at the John Hallett Memorial Regatta did not disappoint the sailors who showed up at Conroe Yacht Club for this event. There were 11 boats registered for Saturday’s 10-mile Distance Race, and five boats registered for the two-day Catalina 22 Regional Regatta. The sailors were started on Saturday morning in 11 knots of breeze gusting to 16 knots from the SSW, but conditions built through the day to blast the fleets with no less than 15 knots, and gusting to 19 knots. Sunday’s racing began in a gentle 10 knots breeze from SSE but increased steadily until the sailors were battling two-foot waves in no less than 16 knots with gusts to 21 knots.

Charleston Cruise - Thank you Eric & Liz McCafferty

Thank you to Eric & Liz McCafferty for hosting the "Destination '22: Charleston Cruise" the week of October 16 through 22. A great time was had by all.

In the top photograph are Liz & Eric McCafferty, Robert and Bonnie Cox Donehoo (and their two pups), and Dora and Ted McGee.

In the bottom photograph, Ted McGee wrote "Dora and I just returned from a cruise put together by Eric and Liz McCafferty in Charleston. One of the many highlights was a lovely gift from Eric and Liz. The honey comes from their daughter’s farm. If I got it right their boat Seanachai is pronounced Shan ah key. It is Gaelic for storyteller. The photo of their boat was taken on our way to Morris Island Lighthouse."
